The computer fair is a locally sponsored event where students from surrounding school districts get to show off their web design and programming skills. For the 2000 fair, I submitted the PHP-based webpage that I designed for my school district at the time. The page easily scored first place at the regional level as this was the only entry that went beyond a simple perl/cgi script on the backend. The page also won first place at the state-wide level and generated quite a bit of local attention (at least compared to what I am used to).
