I currently live in a large farmhouse near Shippensburg Pennsylvania. For those of you who do not know, Shippensburg is a quiet rural town in south-central Pennsylvania. Conveniently located in Shippensburg is Shippensburg University, where I recently graduated from.

Other than the cows and the really bad Internet service, there really is not much to do around here. This leaves me plenty of time to program, mess with my servers, and otherwise create really cool stuff. I have been playing with computers for quite some time now, and have recently received a bachelors degree in Computer Science from Shippensburg University.

Back somewhere in 2001 I started an open source project and called it Cacti. Initially meant to foster my interest in RRDtool at the time, it has since grown into quite an application. There are now five developers including me, a huge community, and an impressive list of companies using the product. Even five years later, I still write code and provide guidance where ever I can.

Aside from consulting and free lance programming, I have had three "real" jobs in the past all of which have had their purpose. My first job was at a local ISP, PlanetCable. There, I did mostly help desk and minor web programming. After being offered a position at my high school, I decided to take up work there through the work experience program during my senior year. After I graduated from high school, I obtained a job at Cumberland Technologies also known as [pa|md|dc|oh|nj|vt|va|ga].net. Two great things came out of working at Cumberland Technologies. One was the incredible amount of networking and system administration experience and the second is the people that I met while working there.

Of the many people that I worked with at Cumberland Technologies, there was one member in Network Operations that I worked especially well with. After two or so years of working there, him, a third adventurous soul, and I decided to leave and start a business of our own. It is now just over two years since we initially started the company, and things are booming. Most importantly, I actually look forward to going to work in the morning.

Between all of this madness, I try to keep a few non computer related hobbies. Spending time outdoors, hanging out with family and friends, reading books, and going to clubs are a few of them.
